Information created in Navigate360, such as appointments and notes, is updated in real time. Information imported from Banner, such as class schedules and holds, is updated nightly.
Navigate360 is compliant with FERPA regulations. There are extensive security protocols and role-based rules to ensure data is only accessed by those who meet the academic interest standards defined by FERPA.
Students are limited to seeing their personal data such as class schedule, holds, to-dos, events, and appointment information. They cannot see items such as advising notes, progress on success markers, or predictive model output.
NMSU Division of Student Success conducts monthly Data Tools Workshops. Trainings for specific tasks are available via the Navigate360 Helpdesk, found by clicking the question mark on the upper right corner of Navigate360 pages. Department and individual trainings are available upon request through navigate@nmsu.edu.
Open the appointment summary and use the “Edit Report” option found in the bottom right corner.
You set up your appointment availability in Navigate360 under My Availability. Once availability is set up, sync Outlook to Navigate360. Only time showing as Free in Outlook that matches your appointment availability will appear in Navigate360, and appointments will only be schedulable at those times.
The easiest way to find a student is by using their Aggie ID. If you cannot find the student with their Aggie ID, try searching on the both the first and last name and include the hyphen. Navigate uses the student's preferred name, not their legal name.
Appointment summaries should be used to document appointments with students and can be viewed by the student if you mark the summary for sharing, however it is best practice to not share notes with students. Notes should be used to document other interactions with students that are not made public.
Student notes are part of a student's academic record and are protected under FERPA
Navigate360 updates nightly from Banner, so changes do not show immediately. If the issue persists, please contact navigate@nmsu.edu. We try to correct records in Banner when needed.
